Position: Communication Specialist (Dispatch)
Department: Police Department

DUTY DESCRIPTION:
Primarily responsible for receiving, prioritizing, and appropriately dispatching all police and fire calls. This includes 9-1-1 calls for Page and the surrounding areas. Requires rotating shift work which includes days, evenings, midnights, weekends and holidays.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE;
One to three (1-3) years of previous experience in positions involving public contact. Some prior work exposure to law enforcement and public safety functions is preferred. Equivalent combination of training and experience is acceptable.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Must have excellent customer service skills. Must have excellent verbal, written, and listening skills. Must be able to speak with a clear, concise voice. Must have the ability to type 40 wpm or greater is preferred. Must have a working knowledge of general office equipment and computers
REQUIRED TESTING:
The applicant will be required to take written, typing, psychological and polygraph tests. A background check will be preformed
